This symposium and panel discussion will critically explore bhangra culture, its history and current position in the UK. The panel will include bhangra artists, media professionals, producers and promoters working in the bhangra scene. The seminar will consist of a series of presentations, debates, a short film screening, a Q&A session and live bhangra music. The symposium is open to arts and cultural professionals as well as the general public. Ticket price includes an authentic Punjabi feast!

Punjabi Folk Company presents bhangra bands Alaap and Kumar Heera on a same bill for an extravaganza evening of brilliant Bhangra sounds.
Channi Singh from Alaap and Kumar from Heera are the UK’s foremost bhangra singers in successfully combining western drums and synths with traditional Punjabi instruments.
